HOURS

Our summer hours will be Monday - Friday 7:30am- 6pm

Drop off: Please have students at the studio by 10am. If you need to drop off earlier than 7:30am we may be available upon request. Some field trips require students to be at studio prior to 8am for earlier departures.

Students need to bring a sack lunch, an extra pair of socks, swim suit with no buttons, zippers, rivets, or studs and have a change of clothes on hand.

Our goal is to integrate aspects of academics as they relate to martial arts. We hope to excite students about learning over the summer through fun exploration without the constraints of a must-do curriculum. We have an exciting calendar with multiple workshop opportunities. There is an extra fee for some but all of them are wonderful programs offered by qualified instructors. Programs offered by outside contractors are subject to their rules and regulations. Eagle AMP cannot guarantee class schedules, but will try to compensate for any changes with a program as equivalent in quality as possible.

Eagle AMP will only transport students who have pre-paid, in-full to off campus venues. Supervision will be provided for students remaining at studio during off campus field trips. If extra staff is unavailable there may be occasion it will be nessassary for students to accompany the group and observe.

This guide is a general overview of the program.

Complimentary workshops

Bag and Focus-Glove Training

Most of our Martial Arts training is spent working together. Therefore, we concentrate on our control and efforts that focus more on point sparring and situational re-creation, rather than throwing kicks and punches packed with power. This workshop is intended to build power, strengthen target tracking, and advancing and retreating techniques. Students will also develop distance perceptions, enabling students to judge more accurately where they need to be in relation to a target to get the most out of their kicks and punches with out jamming themselves up or missing altogether. Students will also begin to fine tune timing reflexes and accuracy.

Competition Preparation

Competition can be a stressful undertaking. One of the best things we can do for ourselves as martial artists and students is to compete. We learn a lot about ourselves as well as others in the competition ring. By learning to become comfortable quick thinkers in competition, we gain valuable skills that can later help us not only in school and the martial arts, but in the work arena and beyond. This workshop will help students prepare their techniques as well as their minds to enter the ring with confidence. We will end our sessions with an open tournament!

Beginning Wrestling

To compliment the martial arts and bring our students a wonderful skill, Eagle AMP is offering a beginning wrestling workshop this summer. These weekly sessions will lay the ground work for students to begin to enjoy a wonderful sport that both young ladies and young men may continue and one day use to compete in through out high school, or even a future in MMA.

Beginning Yoga

Yoga is a great compliment to the martial arts because it enhances strength , flexibility, and equanimity in a fun and calming atmosphere. Students will learn breathing techniques, which helps focus their power to deal with stressful situations (such as tests, competitions, and conflicts) The class also consist of basic yoga postures and body awareness.

Korean Ki Gong

"Ki" means life energy and "Gong" represents study and practice. The World Ki Gong Club was formed by Grand Master Shin of the World tang Soo Do Association to study and practice this ancient Korean form of health and vitality. Just as the Um/Yang represents a balance between opposites Ki Gong is the natural balance to our study of tang Soo Do. It incorporates low impact soothing movements and music to offset the high-energy hard style of karate.

1 With Nature

"The ultimate goal of Tang Soo Do is to become one with nature"

This year Eagle AMP is continuing an awesome program to help show our students how to form a brighter tomorrow by empowering today's actions. Making the world a better place begins with little things we do every day. We will be studying healthy lifestyle habits, and greener living through science math language arts, art and social studies. Of course the kids wont know they're doing all that, they will just think their having fun! We will look at energy, global warming, clothing, recycling etc.

This summer will begin with a trip to The Discovery Center for "Down the Drain" a wonderful intro to our watershed. We hope to continue this line of education through the program that Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods has to offer.

The naturalists at The Discovery Center will also host us for a tour of their campus, "Rockin & Recycling" at Foothill Park, and "Weather or Not" at Spring Lake.
The naturalists from Stewards of the Coast and redwoods Will be guiding Eagle AMP on our tour of Armstrong Redwoods and The Tide Pools as well.

We will visit the more delicate side of Sonoma County at Hallberg Butterfly Gardens on August 5th.
*
NOTE Please consider talking to your children about acts of service and giving. Most of these trips are little to no cost and Eagle AMP brings a donation as well. If you see the value in some of these program we would be honored to bring your donation with us.

We will maintain a kick-back atmosphere helping prepare for spelling and comprehension during the school year. we will end the competition with a spelling bee. The movie is not rated "G" and therefore we need parents permission for it's viewing.

Eagle AMP will have bi-weekly opportunities to express ourselves with visual arts and their composition. Sessions support other workshops including but not limited to;

Dancing is a fun way to exercise and express ones self creativity. We will be exploring various types of music as styles of dance. Sometimes we will use our martial arts and sometimes we will use movement to interpret ideas.
